up mount zion
actually it's Sion (french spelling for Zion) and it's in a valley... but details, details... :P
it's the capital city of the canton Valais in Switzerland, about 160km away from Geneva. It was a beautiful spring day - we were too warmly dressed! must have been about 22 deg with the sun shining... but it was wonderful just to be able to sit outside and enjoy some "al fresco" dining. okie, so the main attraction in Sion are 2 chateaux or castles up on a hill. we're proud to say we made it all the way up on foot! (actually we din know could drive halfway up lah... if not would have driven :P) there, we got these Swiss ladies to help us take our first real couple shot in Switzerland. posted here for your viewing pleasure.
on the way back we stopped by the Chateau de Chillon, near Montreux. apparently the object of Lord Byron's book "Prisoner of Chillon". we got there too late to go in, but the view from the castle is really superb.. and there this great photo spot at the end of a wooden pier right next to the lake, with the view of the mountains in the background... we had to queue to get our turn for a photo! hee...
all right then, we're off to toulouse to visit friends this weekend... will post more next week
