Il etait une fois a Lyon......
LYON - A city about 150km from Geneva, or about an 80-min drive (at 140kmh). The 3rd largest city in France, with a layout that's very similar to Paris, with many old buildings and cathedrals. And that's where we decided to spend our Saturday :) Several interesting things happened to us there:
1) Our 2 min of fame...
We were at the parade square in front of the Mayor's office ("hotel de ville"), when this teenage boy approached us and asked if he could take our picture. Turns out that he was part of a group of students taking photos of people wearing jeans in the square for their school project (we were both wearing jeans). So we became their "models"... hahahah :P
2) 2 strange men...
This happened while we were having a short coffee break at the Basilique de la Fourviere - it's an old cathedral on top of a hill that's one of the key tourist spots in Lyon. We were just sitting in this canteen-like place, when one old man came up to us and asked us for 20 cents. He looked quite mentally unsound, so we told him we didn't have 20 cents. He went off to ask other people for it. The next strange man was actually sitting very close to us. He was smiling strangely at me and later when i was not paying attention, he came up from behind, leaned very close to my ear, and shouted "bonjour!"... so strange... my hubby of cos was eyeing him closely... We quickly left...

3) Of painted walls and doggie doo....
Lyon is famous for its painted walls on the sides of buildings. We went to this residential area with 25 painted walls. Some of the walls are really beautiful! But while I (Josiah) was trying to take a photo of this wall, a very "fortunate" thing happened!! I stepped on a pile of dog poo.... AH...!!!!! So upset with the dog owners, the dog poo were everywhere. Giving people luck to buy lottery...
